Interests

My biggest hobby is studying Japanese culture and language. I have yet to take formal classes in the Japanese language, but I have enjoyed studying on my own and through on-line tutoring. My ultimate goal is to memorize the 2,000 Kanji (Japanese characters) recommended for everyday use, and be fluent enough to hold a conversation when I visit Tokyo.

Also, I like to build and experiment with electronics. I am particularly fascinated with magnetism and electrical inductance. I have spent more than a few hours turning my iron hand-weights into temporary electromagnets. A labor of love really!
